Spring Migration in Texas
As spring migration heats up, we invite you to join us at these special events:
- Houston Audubon’s High Island https://houstonaudubon.org/birding/forbirders/spring-migration.html
Join us every weekend in April as we support Houston Audubon's amazing sanctuaries at High Island. This legendary spot includes a rookery full of nesting birds, gorgeous and accessible boardwalks through the woods, and is adjacent to Bolivar Peninsula with shorebirds as far as the eye can see. Our table will be set up in Boy Scout Woods, where you can purchase a day pass or season pass/patch.
- Galveston FeatherFest, April 11-14, 2019 galvestonfeatherfest.com
Galveston is one of the top locations in the country for birding because it hosts a wide variety of habitats in a small geographical area where some 300 species make their permanent or temporary home throughout the year. We will be included in the vendor area Thursday through Saturday.
- The Birdiest Festival in America, April 24-28 birdiestfestival.org
Held in Corpus Christi, this year’s Birdiest Festival will feature optional guided field trips to regional birding hot spots and private ranches, nature photography workshops, a vendor trade-show, bird walks, The Raptor Project presentation, and lots of South Texas hospitality. The inaugural year (2017) had 246 species and (2018) had 257 species, showing why Corpus Christi was named the "Birdiest City in North America". Land Sea & Sky will be set up Wednesday through Saturday.
