Repair Schedule
Since 1940 Texas Nautical Repair, Inc. has provided
service and sales of optical, scientific and navigational instruments.
Our factory trained technicians service all models of microscopes including
Olympus, Leica, Nikon, Zeiss, Wild, Bausch & Lomb, Swift, American
Optical, Reichert, Spencer, Accuscope, Labomed and many more. We service
microscopes on site as well as here at our repair facility located at
1927 Richmond Ave. in Houston, Texas.
Our usual labor rate is:
- $65.00 per hour
- free loaner microscopes are available on request.
We recommend regular preventative maintenance of
your microscope to insure optimal performance. This can be done every
6-12 months depending on the amount of use your microscope receives.
Standard rates for preventative maintenance
are as follows:
- PM on monocular compound student microscopes
start at $20.00
- PM on binocular compound laboratory microscopes
start at $80.00
- PM on binocular compound research microscopes
start at $120.00
Typical preventative maintenance includes lubricating
and adjusting the focus and mechanical stage as well as cleaning all external
lenses. We also inspect and clean the prism head, clean and adjust the
condenser as well as the lamp assembly. Additional charges apply for replacement
parts or to disassemble and overhaul an objective.
We also provide full service on stereo dissecting
microscopes.
Most repairs can be accomplished in one week or
less but for those who require minimal down time for their instrument
or have a scope that is too large to move, one of our technicians can
provide an on site service call at reasonable rates. Please call us at
713-529-3551 and we will schedule a time that is convenient for you --
usually within 48 hours. We service many of the microscopes in the Texas
Medical Center as well as U.T.M.B. in Galveston.
